Based on a True story of   Dr. Achyuta Samanta 

Jungle Cry is a film based on the true story of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, who lost his father at the age of four while living in India, and today provides food, housing, clothing and education from kindergarten to postgraduate to over 27,000 tribal children in Odisha, India on a 500+ acre campus promoting education and sports.

The ‘Jungle Crows’ rugby team, made up of twelve children from tribal, underprivileged backgrounds and coached in rugby football by Indian coach Rudraksha Jena (played by Abhay Deol) of KISS (Kalinga Institute of Social Science) and Paul Walsh MBE – former employee at British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata – went on to make Indian and British history by winning the Rugby Nations Cup in England in 2007. They played against 4 countries and the title was named based on the anthem of rugby aka the Haka Cry. Locations include Odisha India, Swansea and Cardiff in Wales and London.
